Biography

Judie’s unique perspective on the issues facing the elderly and those with disabilities was shaped by more than a decade of field experience as a social worker. This included directing Lutheran Medical Center’s Community Care organization, serving as a Gerontology instructor in Marymount Manhattan College’s gerontology program and working on staff at the New York City Department for the Aging.Wanting to do more, Judie became an attorney and joined the ground-breaking elder law firm, Freedman & Fish, which eventually became Freedman Fish & Grimaldi. In 2008, after 15 years of practicing law, she joined with Pauline Yeung-Ha to form Grimaldi & Yeung LLP, an elder law and estate planning firm that serves the New York metropolitan region.Clients rely on Judie to help with the Medicare/Medicaid application process and benefit from her particular focus on family caregivers and homecare.Judie is part of a large Italian family and enjoys spending time with them which often includes cooking. She enjoys NY theater & dance. She is also active in community service and historic preservation serving on several boards of non for profits, focused on aging and health services. She has two grown sons and a granddaughter, and makes her home in her native Brooklyn.
