Biography

Tsui Yee has been practicing immigration law since 1999, handling a wide variety of immigration matters, including family- and employment-based applications for permanent residence, nonimmigrant work visas, defense in removal (deportation) proceedings, naturalization applications, and applications for various waivers of removability.

Ms. Yee is a Co-Chair of the Immigration and Nationality Law Committee of the Asian American Bar Association of New York and Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Practice Committee of the New York County Lawyers Association. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Korean American Lawyers Association of Greater New York.Ms. Yee has presented and spoken at numerous continuing legal educations courses regarding various aspects of immigration and nationality law. She regularly volunteers in pro bono matters due to her deep commitment to the immigrant community, taking a special interest in advocating for victims of domestic violence, applicants for asylum, and unaccompanied minors. Ms. Yee graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law in 1998 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Tufts University in 1993. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York; the Second Circuit Court of Appeals; and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.Prior to forming Guerrero Yee LLP in 2010, Ms. Yee was a founding partner of the immigration law firm of Yee & Durkin, LLP. A proud native New Yorker, Ms. Yee was born in Manhattan and raised in Little Italy.

On Sunday, March 17, 2013, Partner Tsui Yee spoke at Adhikaar’s International Women’s Day (Nari Diwas) 2013: Women’s Leadership for Immigration Reform at PS 12 in Woodside, Queens. The event was a platform to discuss the current immigration reform agenda and how women can take a leadership role in shaping the future of the face of immigration in America. -September 16, 2012 - Partner Tsui Yee gave a presentation on DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) at an event called Immigrants Connect on September 16, 2012 on behalf of AABANY (Asian American Bar Association of New York). Immigrants Connect is a statewide effort led by various state agencies to educate the community regarding what government and community resources are available to immigrants and small business. -September 15, 2012 - Partner Tsui Yee was a featured panelist at the AABANY Fall Conference 2012 on September 15, 2012. The panel was entitled ”Ethical Considerations in an Interdisciplinary Approach.” Ms. Yee, along with the other panelists, identified and discussed common ethical concerns encountered by immigration and real estate practices. -July 29, 2012 - Tsui Yee will be a presenter at the Deferred Action Fraud Prevention Seminar, organized by the New York County District Attorney’s Immigrant Affairs Program and the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY).
